NEW YORK — Cents, a business management and in-store operations platform that enables laundromat owners to start, manage and grow their business, reports it has acquired Starchup, a pickup-and-delivery, drycleaning, and point-of-sale software. Terms of the deal were not announced.
Through the acquisition, Cents will be able to bolster its existing pickup-and-delivery platform by adding functionality and further investing in new tools and features to help laundry and drycleaning owners grow their business, the company says.
“From hardware to software, POS to payroll, laundry and dry cleaning, it’s our mission to create the best all-in-one platform,” says Alexander Jekowsky, CEO of Cents. “We are so excited to be acquiring Starchup in order to deepen our expertise and product offering of pickup-and-delivery management tools for operators managing their own vehicles, mobile order experiences, and more.”
By consolidating the advanced pickup-and-delivery platform that Starchup has built with the product Cents has developed for gig economy pickup and delivery, they will be able to offer a new pickup-and-delivery solution called Cents Dispatch.
With its formal launch, Starchup CEO Nick Chapleau joins Cents as the head of Dispatch, responsible for the continued education, development, and advancement of the product.
“We have loved supporting hundreds of operators with a focus on growing and optimizing their online order and delivery management,” Chapleau says. “The entire Starchup team is thrilled to bring our best-in-class delivery products to Cents to support and empower thousands of operators across the country.
“We’ve seen a lot of companies enter into the tech space in our industry, but I’ve never had such confidence in a product and team as I do in Cents.”
