BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Brian Henderson deployed the first three Wash-Dry-Fold POS® point-of-sale systems as a practical and affordable way to manage employees at Liberty Laundry, his family’s chain of laundromats located here.
After nine years of product growth and improvement, Wash-Dry-Fold POS is celebrating the sale of its 1,000th POS system. It went to the Lau family, who owns laundromats, including the Laundry Depot, in Bay Shore, N.Y.
“I have [Wash-Dry-Fold POS] in multiple stores now and I can just check on my phone to make sure my employees are clocked in when they said they would be,” a Lau family spokesman says. “The dashboard shows when they clock in, what orders they’re working on, the work they’ve already done … it’s like having a little manager that is constantly keeping me up-to-date in all my locations.”
An early adapter to technology in laundromats, the Lau family has nearly 30 years of successful laundromat ownership experience, says Wash-Dry-Fold POS. Growing in revenue and efficiency, it has partnered with Eastern Funding to expand into nearby markets and implement coinless payment solutions in multiple locations.
As the Lau-owned laundromats keep up with the times, so do the technology providers they work with.
“I’ve recently gone coinless with Laundroworks in some of my stores and the Wash-Dry-Fold POS integrates perfectly and acts as sort of backup [Value Add Center], so it pays for itself with that function alone,” says the Lau family spokesman. “But it also keeps the employees honest and productive when I’m out of the store, which increases the amount of revenue we can reinvest in the business.”
At nine years and counting, this latest Wash-Dry-Fold POS milestone shows that it continues to grow and adapt to respond to the demands of the ever-changing modern laundromat, the company says.
