NEW YORK — Monitor magazine recently named Karen Tennant, vice president of risk management for Eastern Funding, a financial lender to laundromats and other businesses, to its “List of Top Women in Equipment Finance” for 2024.
This recognition highlights Tennant’s exceptional contributions and leadership within the industry, showcasing her dedication and hard work, Eastern Funding notes in a blog post.
She has been in the equipment finance industry for more than 30 years, having joined Eastern Funding eight years ago to run the company’s risk group.
“Karen adds tremendous value to the equipment leasing and finance industry in so many ways,” Jennifer Ng, general counsel of Eastern Funding, tells Monitor, the Independent Voice of Equipment Finance, for its Nov/Dec issue. “Her decades-long experience brings unique, in-depth, creative, results-driven solutions when managing the risk portfolio, all while still balancing the needs of a customer-centric industry. Karen’s tenacity in negotiating accounts through workouts, settlements and legal processes is not only results-driven, but is second to none.”
Tennant tells Monitor a career highlight came during the pandemic, when Eastern Funding provided customers relief by deferring payments or offering interest-only payments for a number of months. She believes that she, alongside the rest of Eastern’s team, assisted in saving hundreds of businesses from shutting their doors.
“Colleagues and peers alike celebrate [Karen’s] achievement, acknowledging the significant role she plays in shaping the future of the industry,” Eastern Funding says. “Karen’s passion and expertise continue to set a high standard, and this accolade is a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding accomplishments.”
