Girbau Opens New U.S. Production Plant

Wisconsin facility strengthens manufacturer’s commitment to American market

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Laundry equipment manufacturer Girbau recently inaugurated a new production facility here, marking a significant expansion of its North American footprint and reaffirming its focus on local manufacturing, customer proximity, and sustainability.

The Oct. 29 event coincided with Girbau’s 105th anniversary, uniting company leaders, local officials, and international partners to celebrate the milestone and the company’s long-standing commitment to innovation in textile care technology.

The new plant is designed to serve only the U.S. market, producing up to 3,000 commercial laundry machines annually. By shifting more manufacturing closer to end users, the company aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce delivery times, and shrink its logistical footprint.

This new plant symbolizes Girbau’s constant evolution — an organization with more than a century of history that continues to look to the future with the same passion and commitment to our customers and the planet,” says Mercè Girbau, the company’s president and CEO. “The United States is a strategic market for us, and this inauguration reaffirms our intention to continue growing sustainably and collaboratively alongside our local partners.”

The facility represents Girbau’s latest investment in what it calls a “strategy of proximity,” ensuring local production supports distributors, laundromat owners, and on-premises laundry operators who rely on rapid response and tailored equipment options.

The expansion signals greater accessibility to parts, service and support. With production now based in the Midwest, Girbau says it can respond more quickly to market shifts, distributor needs, and owner requests for customized configurations or rapid replacement units.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony drew local and state dignitaries, representatives from ACCIÓ (the Agency for Business Competitiveness of the Government of Catalonia), and members of Continental Laundry Solutions, Girbau’s U.S. arm. Attendees toured the new plant and heard from company and community leaders on the project’s importance to the local economy.

During the same week, Girbau hosted employees from both its U.S. and Spanish divisions, along with members of the company’s board and management committee. The celebration honored the company’s century-plus legacy of family ownership, innovation and sustainability, values that continue to drive its growth strategy.
