RICHMOND, Ind. — A man convicted of kidnapping, attempted rape and confinement after abducting a 63-year-old woman from a Richmond, Ind., coin laundry in June has been sentenced to 135 years in prison.Charles E. Hubbard, 47, was found guilty but mentally ill following a four-day trial, and was convicted of 10 felonies, including two counts each of kidnapping, confinement, armed robbery, carjacking and attempted rape.In Hubbard’s recent sentencing, Wayne Superior Court 2 Judge Gregory Horn reduced the multiple counts to a single count for each crime.Hubbard received 45 years each for attempted rape and kidnapping, 15 years for robbery and 30 years for being a habitual offender, all to run consecutively.He remains in the Wayne County Jail and will be sent to the Indiana Department of Corrections in 2009, where he’ll be evaluated and placed in the prison system.According to court records, Hubbard was disruptive in the Wayne County Jail and has lost his good time credit, which would have given him two days of credit for every day served.
