Texcare International Postponed Until November 2021

Organizers blame COVID-19 economies, expected travel restrictions

FRANKFURT, Germany — Texcare International has been postponed again and will now take place here Nov. 27 through Dec. 1, 2021.

Messe Frankfurt, the German Textile Cleaning Association and the VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies jointly decided in favor of postponement due to the economic situations caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the travel restrictions which are expected.

In the early stages of the pandemic, Messe Frankfurt had already postponed the event originally scheduled for June 2020 to October 2020.

How far the travel restrictions will be lifted this fall is unclear, organizers says, and members of the international textile care industry—particularly in tourism, food service and professional clothing sectors—are suffering from the economic consequences of the pandemic.

“We want to do full justice to the expectations which the industry brings to a leading trade fair such as Texcare International,” says Wolfgang Marzin, president and CEO of Messe Frankfurt. “The current regulations governing major events, the continuing restrictions on global travel, and the critical economic situation, however, are calling this aim into question. At the same time, in the interests of exhibitors and visitors, we want to avoid unnecessary costs at an early stage.”

Marzin says no one took the decision lightly but organizers are now directing their energies to supporting the economic recovery “at the right moment through the event in 2021.”
