SBA to Host Free Disaster Preparedness Webinars

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), in conjunction with Agility Recovery, will be hosting a series of free webinars in September on the topic of disaster preparedness.

Each year, small businesses nationwide are forced to close their doors in the aftermath of severe storms, flooding, tornadoes, wildfires and hurricanes, says the SBA, and business interruptions, even if one lasts just a few hours, are costly in terms of lost productivity and profits.

The free, hour-long webinars will be presented in collaboration with FEMA’s Ready Campaign, as part of National Preparedness Month, and will be presented at 2 p.m. EDT each Wednesday in September, starting Sept. 11.

“The SBA wants to help business owners take charge of the well-being of their own companies, the safety of their employees and the sustenance of their local economies by being prepared to rebound quickly from any kind of disaster,” the agency says.

A full list of the webinars and registration information can be found at the SBA’s website.
