Retool Breathes New Life into Cornerstone Laundry York

YORK, Pa. — A variety of vended laundry projects are completed around the country each year, resulting in brand-new or rejuvenated stores primed and ready to serve customers.

To celebrate the effort that goes into designing, building and equipping today’s modern self-service laundry, American Coin-Op created this Portraits of Success feature to recognize memorable projects of recent vintage.

And so equipment manufacturers were invited to tout their brand’s latest noteworthy vended laundry projects. Here is a story that was shared by Dexter Laundry:

Cornerstone Laundry York LLC is a newly retooled laundromat located in York, Pa., and owned by Joe Beatty. Spanning approximately 3,250 square feet, Cornerstone Laundry York is a 24/7 self-service laundry that also offers wash/dry/fold services to deliver a complete laundry experience to the South Central Pennsylvania community.

PAC Industries, a Dexter Authorized Distributor, was instrumental in the retool, helping determine the right product mix and overseeing the equipment installation. Wilfredo Mercado and Molina Construction also played big roles in bringing the project vision to life.

In only 3½ months, Cornerstone Laundry York underwent a full transformation. The project included new freestanding concrete pads for washers down to the footers; a new roof with a stone-front exterior; and upgrades to the electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, along with new drywall, paint and flooring.

Today, the laundry is fully equipped with brand-new, state-of-the-art Dexter Laundry equipment, including:

• 4 T-300 C-Series Washers, 20 pounds capacity
• 4 T-400 C-Series Washers, 30 pounds capacity
• 10 T-600 C-Series Washers, 40 pounds capacity
• 4 T-900 C-Series Washers, 60 pounds capacity
• 4 T-1200 C-Series Washers, 80 pounds capacity
• 4 T-80 C-Series Dryers, 80 pounds capacity
• 8 T-30x2 C-Series Dryers (stacked 30-pounders)
• 6 T-50x2 C-Series Dryers (stacked 50-pounders)

With the addition of new, more efficient, higher-capacity Dexter Laundry equipment, the store has seen a significant boost in sales, according to Beatty. The DexterLive management system and DexterPay mobile app have streamlined store operations while providing customers with a convenient mobile payment option, and the DexterPay Rewards program has further enhanced customer loyalty.

With an investment of approximately $685,000, Cornerstone Laundry York has become a modern, high-quality laundry facility proudly serving York and the surrounding communities.
