MOORESVILLE, Ind. — The new, high-speed Pepper’s Express Laundry Center recently opened for business here southwest of Indianapolis. The 4,800-square-foot vended laundry is designed to enhance and quicken the laundry process, according to owners Jim and Pepper McNutt.
Among other perks, the Laundromat offers full-service wash/dry/fold, drop-off dry cleaning, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and a kids’ play area.
“Our fully attended laundry is spacious, bright, efficient and clean,” says Jim. “My wife and I are really excited to bring Pepper’s Express Laundry Center to our community.”
This is McNutt’s first Laundromat but he has served the industry for years. He is president of Indianapolis-based Standard Change-Makers Inc., which designs and manufactures currency change machines used in Laundromats and car washes, as well as payment kiosks for these industries.
His wife, Pepper, after whom the laundry is named, manages the new high-speed store.
“Throughout my career, I’ve come to know the laundry industry well, but as an owner, it’s new to us,” says Jim. “To best serve our community, we decided to outfit Pepper’s with advanced equipment and systems that allow our customers to complete their laundry in less than 60 minutes. And these days, our time is valuable!”
The store utilizes high-speed Continental ExpressWash® washers from 20 to 90 pounds in capacity; the 90s are capable of washing up to nine laundry loads simultaneously and feature automatic detergent and softener injection. The McNutts say they’re perfect for laundering bed covers, sleeping bags or any large item that can’t be done at home.
Additionally, all of the washers offer the San-03-tyzer ozone water treatment system, which automatically injects ozone gas into the wash cycle. It works to kill 99.9% of bacteria, says Jim, effectively sanitizing the wash. “It’s bacteria that causes smells, and we eliminate it,” he adds.
“No one in our area has machines that truly sanitize laundry,” adds Pepper. “We feel it makes laundry fresher, brighter and softer.”
Ample parking and full-service wash/dry/fold add to customer convenience.
“Customers can drop laundry off in the morning and pick it up — washed, dried, folded and packaged — that evening,” says Pepper. “We wash and fold all laundry according to our customers’ unique wishes.” Additionally, the laundry hopes to serve as a drop-off and pickup site for dry cleaning and shirt laundry processing.
Pepper’s Express Laundry Center accepts coins, bills and credit cards, and offers a robust loyalty program. The McNutts says they will run a variety of specials and continuously offer rewards to loyal customers.
