FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Equipment distributor Laundry Owners Warehouse recently donated a brand-new washer to In Jacob’s Shoes, a South Florida nonprofit dedicated to providing shoes, socks, backpacks and school supplies to children in need.
The washer will help the organization clean thousands of donated shoes, ensuring they are fresh and ready for local kids heading back to school.
In Jacob’s Shoes serves children living in poverty, in shelters, in foster care, or recovering from disasters like fires and hurricanes. Many arrive with shoes that are worn out or don’t fit. In some cases, they have no shoes at all. By restoring these donations, the nonprofit helps kids return to school with dignity, confidence, and the supplies they need to succeed.
“At Laundry Owners Warehouse, we’ve always believed our equipment can do more than clean clothes — it can change lives,” says Josh Prager, CEO of Laundry Owners Warehouse. “When we heard about the incredible work In Jacob’s Shoes was doing for local kids, we knew this was an opportunity to put our resources to work for something bigger than business. This washer will help thousands of children walk into the school year with pride.”
Since 2009, In Jacob’s Shoes has distributed 267,000-plus pairs of shoes, 106,000-plus pairs of socks, and 12,800-plus fully stocked backpacks.
Murray and Harlene Zweig founded the charity in memory of their son, Jacob S. Zweig, whose kindness and generosity inspired a lasting mission to help others.
