Kansas Laundromat Eagerly Introduces New Management System

Offers convenience for customers, operational/financial tools for managers

WICHITA, Kan. — The Laundry Station, located here, is the first independent Laundromat to offer Speed Queen Insights and its mobile app payment system, reports equipment manufacturer Speed Queen.

When Sharon Brinks learned about Speed Queen’s cutting-edge laundry system and mobile payment app at the Clean Show in 2017, she wanted her Laundromat to be among the first to offer it to customers.

With an April opening, that became reality. The Laundry Station is the first independent Laundromat in the country to take advantage of Speed Queen Insights and offer customers a more convenient laundry experience with the Speed Queen® app.

“You have to be able to see what you’re doing,” Brinks says of the advanced operational and financial data Speed Queen Insights provides her. “If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it. [Speed Queen Insights] is the future of the industry.”

Speed Queen Insights delivers a single, easy-to-use website that gives store owners complete control of their Laundromat(s), the equipment maker says. Owners can manage stores from anywhere in the world with an internet connection thanks to its cloud-based system, and an easy-to-use dashboard enables tracking and optimization of financial performance and operational data.

Brinks believes the convenience of the Speed Queen app has already created a modern retail experience that customers love. Customers can use it to pay for their laundry, check the status of their wash, and earn rewards for their visits.

“It was clear to us that Sharon’s commitment to building a Laundromat from the ground up that catered to a high-level customer experience would be a great fit for the first install of Speed Queen Insights,” says Steve Bowie, North American sales manager for Speed Queen. “This 4,800-square-foot laundry truly raises the bar – it’s clean, safe, family-friendly and offers the latest in Speed Queen technology.”

The Laundry Station features washers ranging from double load (20 pounds) up to 100 pounds along with dryers up to 75 pounds. There are iPad kiosks pre-loaded with apps for children to help keep kids occupied, while full-cycle drying and the Speed Queen mobile payment app with Speed Queen Rewards create added convenience for customers.
