How to Prepare Your Small Business for Winter Weather Threats

WASHINGTON — Whether it’s pounding rainfall, massive snowstorms, burst pipes on the heels of freezing temperatures or power outages, winter weather presents many threats that can lead to business shutdowns, property damage and loss of life.

The U.S. Small Business Administration believes that now is a good time to make a plan to stay open for business, while protecting your employees and customers from the dangers of severe winter weather.

On Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 27, Agility Recovery and the SBA will host a free half-hour webinar focusing on best practices to mitigate the risks posed by the season. The tips offered during the webinar can be executed simply, and at a low cost, SBA says.

Visit the Agility Recovery website to register; space is limited.

SBA has partnered with Agility to offer business continuity strategies through the Prepare My Business website, where you can access past webinars and disaster preparedness checklists.

The SBA provides disaster recovery assistance in the form of low-interest loans to homeowners, renters, private nonprofits and businesses of all sizes. To learn more, visit www.sba.gov/disaster.
