SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. — Continental Girbau West (CG West), a subsidiary distributorship of Continental Girbau Inc., reports it has named industry veteran Tod Sorensen its new vice president.
Sorensen has more than 20 years of experience related to distribution, management, and on-premise, industrial, route and vended laundry development.
For the past five years, he has served as regional sales manager for Continental Girbau in the Western United States and Canada, and will continue serving in this role, in addition to his new position as vice president of CG West, according to Joel Jorgensen, Continental Girbau vice president of sales and customer services.
“Tod has done an excellent job supporting our distribution network and customers,” says Jorgensen. “He knows a good deal about the Southern California market and brings applicable management experience to his new position.”
“Together with the CG West team, I hope to work more closely with our customers and the local Coin Laundry Association,” says Sorensen.
In his new role, Sorensen will work to broaden the presence of CG West within Southern California laundry markets, as well as strengthen its vended and on-premise laundry service schools, and grow the company’s annual vended laundry Profit Symposium events, according to CG West.
“We want to educate our vended laundry customers on the marketing, equipment and merchandising trends that most impact store profits and operating costs,” he adds.
During his career, Sorensen served seven years as a sales representative/district trainer for Schering-Plough Corp., a pharmaceutical company headquartered in Kenilworth, N.J.
He also has 16 years of experience with a variety of laundry industry companies, including Hughes Enterprises, Lombard, Ill.; Coin-O-Matic Equipment, Alsip, Ill.; and Coinmach Corp., Hayward, Calif.
