Clean Show Expands Educational Program to Foster Worldwide Participation

NEW ORLEANS — Clean Show organizers are inviting other associations, including some international associations, to participate in the show’s educational program for the first time, in order to facilitate global involvement. Clean ’09 is slated for June 18-21 in New Orleans.Previous educational sessions were provided only by the show’s sponsoring associations — the Association for Linen Management (ALM), Coin Laundry Association (CLA), Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI), Textile Care Allied Trades Association (TCATA), Textile Rental Services Association of America (TRSA) and Uniform & Textile Service Association (UTSA).“Our official name is World Educational Congress for Laundering and Drycleaning, and we felt the entire textile care industry would benefit from a more global reach in the education program,” says Roger Cocivera, Clean ’09 chairman and chief executive officer of TRSA.In addition to the educational sessions offered by show sponsors ALM, CLA, DLI and TRSA, sessions will be available from other industry associations. Participating U.S. associations include the American Reusable Textile Association (ARTA), Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) and International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA). The Canadian Cleaners and Launderers Allied Trades Association (CLATA) will also present sessions. The European Textile Services Association (ETSA), headquartered in Belgium, and the Textile Services Association Ltd. (TSA) of the United Kingdom will collaborate with CINET to provide educational sessions.More than 40 hours of education will be available on the four days of the show from 8-10 a.m. Topics generally focus on new technologies and trends, business management and marketing, and environmental issues that face the industry. All sessions are included in the show’s registration fee ($60 for pre-registration by May 22 and $95 on-site).“This is a real bargain for industry professionals,” says John Riddle, president of Riddle & Associates, the Clean Show’s management company. “Many of the sessions offered command substantial fees when presented at any other time or place, and attendees can also see and compare all of the latest equipment and products in the exhibition. That’s why our theme for this show is ‘Look. Learn.
