OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. — Every two years, the Coin Laundry Association hosts the Excellence in Laundry Conference, drawing hundreds of industry professionals from across the country. On May 13-14, the 5th biennial conference in San Diego will feature world-class speakers and industry innovators together for continued education and networking.
Keynote speakers for the CLA-members-only event at the Rancho Bernardo Inn will include astronaut Cady Coleman and master communicator Michael Angelo Caruso. Each will keynote a separate day of the conference. Topics to be covered include leadership, legislative issues, economic outlook and more.
Former NASA astronaut and Air Force Col. Coleman, a veteran of two space shuttle missions and a six-month expedition on the International Space Station, will keynote the conference’s first day with her presentation, Leadership Lessons from Space.
Caruso is the founder and president of the Edison House, an international consulting firm specializing in corporate and personal improvement. He teaches people how to improve their leadership and communication, and his May 14 presentation for the CLA is titled Get People to Do Stuff.
General session speakers during the event will be Taylor St. Germain and Megan Scarboro.
St. Germain is an economic analyst at ITR Economics, where he provides consulting services for small trade associations and Fortune 500 companies. Planning with Optimism is the title of his presentation.
Scarboro focuses primarily on corporate income tax issues as an economist and senior policy analyst at MultiState Associates. She’ll provide a legislative and tax policy update for the industry as the last general session of the conference.
