Business Incentives are Available

CHICAGO — If you’re attempting to make your laundry more energy efficient, there’s a chance that you might be able to save a few dollars in the process. The DSIRE (Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency) website provides a fast and conventional method for accessing information about renewable energy and energy-efficiency incentives and regulatory policies administered by federal and state agencies, utilities and local organizations. If you visit www.dsireusa.org/, you can view incentive information in a variety of ways. First, the incentives are listed by state. The homepage features a U.S. map, and by clicking on a state you can bring up a list of available programs organized into two categories: financial incentives and rules, regulations and policies. The list of state incentives also contains a link to individual program summaries.DSIRE contains information on Federal financial incentives for end-users of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. Program summaries similar to the state summaries are offered. Is your area more likely to offer incentives? Summary maps even provide a geographical perspective of the availability of each renewable energy incentive type across the country.More specifically, coin laundry owners can search DSIRE by the following methods: state, incentive type, renewable energy or energy efficiency technology, implementing sector (federal, state, local, utility), eligible sector (e.g., commercial, industrial, etc.) and additional resources. Some coin laundry owners have learned about financial incentives only to discover that the funds were doled out before they could take advantage of them. This website is updated weekly with the addition of new programs and the verification of or changes to existing programs.Established in 1995, DSIRE is an ongoing project of the North Carolina Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
