Alliance Laundry Systems’ McDonald Assumes Newly Created Role

RIPON, Wis. — Alliance Laundry Systems has promoted Jay McDonald to the newly created position of vice president of Speed Queen North American home laundry sales, the company reports. McDonald was vice president of business development for the company prior to the promotion.

In his new role, McDonald will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to expand the home dealer network and drive the success of the home laundry product line, which the company is calling a “new growth opportunity.”

“Earlier this year, Alliance completed a plant expansion to increase the production of small-chassis equipment, which includes the home laundry product line,” the company says.

“Jay’s intellect, product knowledge and management skills make him uniquely suited to succeed in this new role,” says William Bittner, vice president of North American sales. “He has accumulated a wealth of experience in sales and marketing in the laundry industry during his 34-year career at Alliance.”

McDonald joined Alliance Laundry Systems in 1979 as a field service manager for its Speed Queen brand. He has since held various sales and marketing positions, and has worked within the home laundry market for nine years, gaining experience working with retailers and special accounts.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in economics from Ripon (Wis.) College.
