LAS VEGAS — If you’re looking to update your coin laundry, the Clean Show is the place to be. One of the major attractions at any Clean Show is getting to see some of the newest equipment offerings as well as equipment/products being introduced at the show.As you might expect, energy efficiency is the focus of many manufacturers. Here is just a brief look at some coin laundry equipment. Upcoming issues of American Coin-Op will feature detailed coverage of Clean Show equipment/products.EXPRESS LINE GROWSDexter’s new Express 50-pound model joins the Express 30-pound model and is designed to give operators the capacity and performance that no other stack dryer can match. Both Dexter Express dryers are perfectly tuned to maximize drying performance and energy efficiency, the company says. By balancing heat input, tumble speed, air recirculation, and airflow through the fully perforated, large-diameter cylinders, the dryers deliver maximum energy efficiency and superior drying speed, the company adds.THE SKY’S THE LIMITAmerican Dryer Corp. (ADC) is offering the AD-115, a 115-pound tumbler for coin laundries. Tumbler volume is 33.10 cubic feet, and the door opening is slightly larger than 31 inches. The unit is 84 inches high and is available in gas, steam and electric models. This unit may be ideal for operators interested in commercial accounts or expanding their drop-off service.ADC is also offering the AD-4545, a stack dryer with 45-pound capacity pockets. Features include:

  • Magnetic door latches
  • Dual coin mechanisms and controls
  • Lint trays available with locks
  • Single coin box holding more than 1,300 quarters
  • Largest lint screen in the industry, according to ADC, and
  • 27-inch door opening.

UNIQUE ENGINEERING ELEMENTSContinental Girbau Inc. has a new design for its D-Series stacked dryers. D-Series stacked dryers feature a single gas and electrical connection, rather than two, and an integrated “two-to-one” vent coupler system — making replacement and new installations quicker and less expensive. The units also feature a dual voltage motor that operates using either 120- or 220-volt power. The strategic location of the dryer lint drawer allows the coin drop and control panel to be completely sealed off from lint. The lint drawer location also maximizes the airflow into and through the dryer — resulting in faster drying for increased drying capacity and improved customer turnover and store profit, the company says.Continental Girbau’s E-Series high-performance washer-extractors are designed to alleviate rising operational costs. The E-Series brings together a number of unique engineering elements, including a freestanding and sump-less design, high-speed G-force extract, exclusive AquaFall and AquaMixer systems and superior programmability to cut utility costs, increase customer turnover and save customers’ time, the company says.
