WASH Subsidiary Acquires Harco’s Multifamily Route Division

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Laundry facilities management service company WASH Multifamily Laundry Systems’ subsidiary, Coinamatic Canada, has acquired the multifamily laundry route division of Canada-based laundry service company Harco Co. Ltd., strengthening its presence in the greater Toronto area, the company reports.

“Our acquisition of Harco is another step in our company’s overall growth strategy and will enable us to create greater efficiencies for both our organization and for our customers,” says Adam Coffey, WASH’s president and CEO.

Yankee Equipment Systems Promotes Ristaino to Sales Manager

BARRINGTON, N.H. — Yankee Equipment Systems, a provider of commercial laundry service and sales throughout New England, has promoted Brendan Ristaino to sales manager.

Ristaino will continue to service Yankee’s customers in eastern Massachusetts while taking on the added responsibility of working with vendors and customers to provide up-to-date product and pricing information.

Steiner-Atlantic Welcomes Gonzalez as VP of Coin Laundry Division

WASH Multifamily Laundry Systems Acquires American Meter & Appliance

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — WASH Multifamily Laundry Systems (WASH) reports that it has acquired American Meter & Appliance, which allows the expansion of WASH to the Pacific Northwest region: Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho and Montana.

Aaxon Laundry Systems Promotes Battaglia, Hires D’Annunzio

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Commercial laundry equipment distributor Aaxon Laundry Systems has promoted Tim Battaglia to accounting systems manager and added Brittany D’Annunzio to its staff as marketing coordinator.

Battaglia graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Prior to his work with Aaxon, he worked for Cargo Transportation Services. During his time there, he worked on improving the efficiency of the company’s systems, creating detailed reports and working on the efficiency of communication between departments.

Support for Increasing Federal Minimum Wage on the Rise: Study

WASHINGTON — Labor unions and members of government agencies are continuing to voice their support for increasing the federal minimum wage, particularly on the heels of the five-year anniversary since it was last raised to $7.25 per hour in July 2009.

“Since then, the cost of a gallon of milk, a week of child care, a month’s rent and everything else a working family needs has gone up,” says U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez.

Study: Key Detergent Ingredients Use Not Adverse to Environment

WASHINGTON — A recent study reviewing five decades’ worth of research shows that high-volume use of major detergent ingredients has no adverse environmental impacts to waterways and rivers, according to a paper co-authored by the American Cleaning Institute (ACI), as well as other authors, including those from the government, academic and other sources, such as laundry detergent manufacturer Procter & Gamble.
