Continental Girbau Promotes Kraemer to Regional Sales Manager

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Continental Girbau Inc. has promoted Wesley Kraemer, Ripon, Wis., to regional sales manager — Central U.S., the company reports.

Kraemer joined Continental in 2010 as a management trainee—a role in which he fielded customer and distributor calls; gained product knowledge; honed communication skills; and handled lead follow-up and qualification.

In his new role, he will manage Continental distributor sales and national accounts within the Central U.S.

Alliance Laundry Holdings Completes $400M Finance Facility

RIPON, Wis. — Alliance Laundry Holdings LLC, the parent company of Alliance Laundry Systems, has completed a new $400 million asset-backed finance facility, the company reports.

The facility supports its business operations in North America and select European markets.

“Financing is a key component of maintaining and growing our leading market share, specifically within our vended laundry segment in North America,” says Mike Schoeb, Alliance Laundry president and CEO. “This new facility will allow us to expand on those services to the European market.”

Whirlpool Completes Deal Acquiring American Dryer Corp. (ADC)

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. — Whirlpool Corp. has completed its acquisition of American Dryer Corp. (ADC), a privately held manufacturer of coin-operated, on-premise, industrial and specialty laundry equipment.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition gives Whirlpool’s commercial laundry business “a platform to reach new countries and channels, while building on a strong foundation of industry-leading innovation, quality and service,” the company says.

Continental Girbau Recognizes 2014 Vended Laundry Distributors of Year

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Continental Girbau has named Fowler Equipment Co., Bloomfield, N.J., and Coronet Equipment, Edmonton, Alberta, as its 2014 Vended Laundry Distributor of the Year, and 2014 Canadian Distributor of the Year, respectively, the company reports.

The awards honor distributorships for their “outstanding sales and distribution” in both the vended and on-premise laundry markets.

Fowler is among the largest on-premise, vended and multi-housing laundry equipment distributors in the Mid-Atlantic region, according to Continental.

Great Lakes Commercial Sales Hosts Spring Product Expo, Service Schools

BROOKFIELD, Wis. — Great Lakes Commercial Sales welcomed more than 200 attendees at its annual product expos and service schools, titled Passport to Savings, throughout the Midwest during April and May.

The company held these events in cities including Lansing, Mich., Dayton, Ohio, and Wauwatosa, Wis., featuring Maytag, Electrolux and Wascomat service schools; vendor displays; panel discussions on re-tooling a coin laundry; and pricing and financing opportunities on new equipment and ancillary items.

Laundrylux Offers Disaster Relief Program to Midwest Operators

INWOOD, N.Y. — Laundrylux is offering a disaster recovery program to self-service laundry operators affected by recent floods, the company reports.

The program includes no payments for up to 120 days plus no interest up to 12 months and low, fixed interest rates. Laundrylux says it will also waive all application fees to help get its laundry-owner customers’ businesses back up and running as quickly as possible.

ISSLA-Sponsored Bill Repeals Iowa’s Coin Laundry Sales Tax

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. — An Iowa Self-Service Laundry Association-sponsored bill to repeal the existing sales tax on coin-operated laundries passed unanimously in the Iowa Senate, and is now awaiting Gov. Terry Branstand’s signature, the ISSLA reports.

“We made some history in the process, it seems,” says Daryl Johnson, ISSLA president. “I was told that there has not been a tax bill passed in the Iowa Senate 50-0 in at least three decades or more, and we also won the vote in the House with a 76-14 margin.”
