JOSEPH, Mich. — Maytag Commercial Laundry recently hosted its Maytag University Commercial Laundry Factory Sales School, which focused on providing its sales representatives in-depth, hands-on training of the company’s multi-segment product portfolio, as well as give attendees an “intensive” session on the coin-store market, the company reports.

Sessions also delved into the company’s energy calculators, financing options and market discussions specific to multi-housing and on-premises segments, according to Maytag.

Launched in mid-September, the campaign involved the release of a limited-edition, pink-accented home-style washer/dryer pair to Speed Queen dealers around the country, the company reports, which donated $20 from every pair purchased.

Rowen Steps Up to New Role for Alliance Laundry Systems

RIPON, Wis. — Alliance Laundry Systems has appointed Kathryn Rowen North American sales manager for its Huebsch, IPSO and Cissell brands, the company reports.

Rowen will transition from senior director of marketing and brands to her new position early this month, the company says, which will allow her to “leverage her previous marketing experience and proven leadership ability as she provides the sales teams with strategic direction and insights.”

CLA Profiles Self-Service Laundry Industry in New Report

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. — The Coin Laundry Association (CLA) has reached out to more than 9,000 stores to compile data on coin laundry operations, financials and challenges in its recently released 2013 Industry Survey, the association reports.

In its 17th year, the annual publication contains both national and regional averages, creating a profile of self-service laundries in the U.S., which the CLA says industry professionals can use to create a composite of the “typical” laundry owner’s challenges, services and opportunities.

Laundrylux Appoints Sabino President, Herman to Senior Counselor, Director in ’14

INWOOD, N.Y. — Commercial laundry equipment distributor Laundrylux has appointed John Sabino president and current President Howard Herman senior counselor and director, effective in January, the company reports.

“John has done a tremendous job the past four years as chief operating officer and manager of vended laundry sales,” says Neal Milch, Laundrylux CEO. “I am delighted to recognize John’s accomplishments and our confidence by greatly expanding his responsibilities as president of Laundrylux. John will be involved in every aspect of our business going forward.”
